Bummer...

Today, I was supposed to have my IS module(Life Science) at 8 am till 12 noon. So, I went to school and reached there at 8 sharp. There was only one person there waiting outside the classroom and it was Wei Ci. A while later Jing Xiong came along...but still no lecturer. We thought among ourselves that something was amiss. And then, it suddenly struck home. We were supposed to go to the Yakult factory today!!!

Our lecturer actually mentioned this trip on the first week of the term. But she didn't put up any announcements on MEL. So we were a bit puzzled because she usually puts up announcements or e-mails us whenever there's anything important for the following week. To confirm our speculation that we're supposed to go to the Yakult factory, I called up my classmate Cindy. And she said that we WERE supposed to go to the factory today. Our lecturer actually reminded the class the previous week. But because we were absent, we didn't receive any reminder. However, I still thought that she should at least put up an announcement on MEL. And I was a bit confused on why my classmate didn't remind me...Luckily, the trip was supposed to start off at 9 am. So us three wasted some time at the Atrium.

Yakult factory is at Woodlands and the tour was quite informative. We received free Yakult and pamphlets. We watched a video that showed how doctors use bateria, like the ones found in Yakult, to combat infectious diseases suffered by bilary cancer patients who've undergone successful surgeries. It was really an eye opener because I didn't think something that is so readily sold in the market can help reduce the occurance of infectious diseases. Then, our tour guide(I think he's like the boss of the factory), brought us to where Yakult is first made, to where Yakult is packeted and ready to be sold. Overall I think it wasn't such a bad trip. What's more is that we didn't have to do any assignments afterwards..yippee!! Still, I brought along my laptop for nothing...haiz...
