Chalet...
Last Tuesday (4th Sept) until this morning was our class chalet at Changi Village. Our barbeque was yesterday. Here's what had happened...On Tuesday, at around 6:30 pm, Kelyn, Jia Sheng and I checked-in into the chalet. We took my family's car because we actually came from school. So from school, we took a cab to my place and from there, we took the stuffs for the chalet, plus the satay and chicken that were prepared by my mother, that were left in my house from the previous day and then, we took the family's car to the chalet. We actually got lost at first. My mother thought that the chalet is at Downtown East because she got confused between Aloha Loyang and Aloha Changi. I really don't know why they can't come up with a different name for the two chalets. Anyway, luckily, we managed to find the place in time to check in. Yu En, her sister and her father were already there at the check-in office. And so, we followed them to our bungalow. Her father was the one who supplied us with sea food. All in a styrofoam box.Shereen, Shuyu and Cai Ling were already there waiting for us. All of them except me decided to stay for the night. The bungalow was actually very big, with two bathrooms, a living room, one kitchen and three bedrooms. Once everyone got settled in, we went out to Changi Village to grab our dinners. Jia Sheng was the only one who got fast food. The rest of us got hawker stall food. He got really excited about getting fast food. But when we got back to eat, he looked as though he was swallowing poison...hahaha. Also, when we came back, we found that the styrofoam box was leaking with squid/stingray/shrimp juice...YUMMY!! In the end, we had to flood the kitchen in order to get rid of the smell and the stain. After a few games of Uno, I left at 10.I came back to the bungalow at around 11 am. At around 1 pm, we set out on the Board Walk along the beach. Nothing much really happened except for some water-playing and picture-taking. After that, we went out to Changi Village again to rent bicycles. Cai Ling and I didn't rent them because Cai Ling brought her own rollerblades and I wanted to use Kelyn's. We cycled/rollerbladed along Changi Beach. I really, really had fun out there. I really love to speed along and just feel the wind...WEEEEEEE!! Later that day, we began the barbeque. Fu Cai helped us get the fire started while Shereen, Yu En, Cai Ling and Shuyu prepared the sea food. And then it was time to barbeque! My mother and my sister came to drop off the fried rice and some things needed to prepare the sea food. My sister stayed behind because she wanted to eat and also there were just too much food and too little people. Kelyn called over her three cousins to help eat the food too.Thinking back, it was actually kind of fun to barbeque...but it was really damned tiring. I don't think I'll ever support having chalet as our class activity again. As my mother had said, it is only fun as long as you just turn up to eat. And besides...there are A LOT of leftovers. Even though the food was calculated for 15 people, there were still a lot of leftovers. I think it is because there just many types of food. Anyway, I'm very pleased that many people loved the satay my mother made. Even Mr Lau said that it was nice. Mrs Lee didn't touch anything. She just hung around and drank Mug Beer and chatted with a few my classmate (those whom she likes) and complained about driving 30 km to the bungalow. I mean if you want to come, don't make such a big fuss over driving 30 km just to get to the place. You'll only spoil the mood of the happy event. I don't really like her now because she's a show-off and she plays favourites among the students, unlike Mr Lau who treats everyone equally. Even my sister who've never met her before can see through her by the way she talks and behaves.I left at 10:40 pm and took back a lot of leftovers. Siyu wanted a ride to Tampines Interchange, so we took her along. Shereen and Kelyn followed us to the car to thank my mother for the food. And Shereen actually said that my mother should open a stall because the food was really nice. HAHA!! I'm really sorry Shereen, but my mother is a very busy person...but all the same, thank you everyone who enjoyed my mother's cooking!
