Lost & Found...

This morning, at around 6 am, Brownie went missing. This was what had happened...

Every morning, my father would unlock the gate and retrieve the newspaper. So today, while he was unlocking the gate, Brownie just went out of the house. My father, being the kind who, if you want to do something naughty, I'll make sure you'll regret it. So he just closed the door with Brownie still outside. Now, Brownie is a housecat. She can't survive alone outside. But recently we've been letting her out for a few minutes so that she will become more brave. Well, now, whenever she hears the door opening, she would rush towards it in the hopes that she would get a chance to go out.

Anyway, my father closed the door and did his morning prayers. After he'd done that, he went to open the door. And guess what...Brownie was gone. All of us went out to look for her, except him because he had to get ready for work. We searched from the top of the building to the bottom, but to no avail. And then we searched around the area...still no sign of her. We gave up once the sun was up and left the door ajar in the hopes that Brownie would return home on her own.

We continued our search at night, around 10:30 pm, because Brownie would usually make noise late at night. Still no sign of her. Then, my mother went down to our neighbour's house on the second storey, who is also a cat lover, and has five cats of her own, and just talked to her about our dilemma. My brother later went down on the same storey to look for Brownie while my mother and our neighbour were still talking. He happened to see something brownish near the rubbish chute (it was kind of hidden) and decided to take a closer look. And you know what? IT WAS BROWNIE!!! I think she was just there the whole day without us noticing! It was such a relief to have finally found her that tears came to my eyes. I'm just so happy to see her. Thank you Allah for answering our prayers. Alhamdulillah...
